RIP Stanley 'Sponge' Hughes, 8/2/1939 - 3/11/2009
In November 2009, the club received some terrible news as we learned of the passing of club stalwart Stanley 'Sponge' Hughes. 'Sponge' was a true legend of our club and people of his calibre are irreplaceable. Thanks to the staff at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Viva Care (Lionsville Hostel) for their assistance with Stan in recent times. Our thoughts are with the Hughes family at this very sad time.
